Parallel Play Chicago
Established in April 2024, Parallel Play seeks to center the joy and liberation of LGBTQIA+, immunocompromised and disabled individuals, and BIPOC through mutual aid, supply drives, and collaborative arts partnerships. We do this by hosting events that foster connection and build networks of care within our community, often alongside our partner organization, The Artistic Alphabet Mafia (TAAM). TAAM is the official silliest, queer, arts-focused event group in Chicago that is both sober-focused and COVID-safer. TAAM strives to create more inclusive queer spaces through collective art making, centering accessibility, and bringing out attendees' inner(gay) child.

We do this by hosting inperson and virtual events on ourcommunity Discord server that foster connection and build networks of care within our community. In April of 2024 Parallel Plays founder Anna De Ocampo Kain launched Dilly Dally a maskrequired quarterly mixer for COVIDcautious queers and allies. After 100 tickets immediately sold it became very apparent there was a huge demand for these safer spaces for the stillCOVIDing community.
