We can reduce rates of gun violence in the USA by adopting stringent gun control laws. aagunv The USA must adopt gun control laws comparable to those in other high income democratic countries to reduce rates of gun related injuries and deaths. www.aagunv.org The rate of gun related deaths in the USA is 10 times higher than the rate in other high income democratic countries. It's our mission to reduce U.S. rates of gun violence to levels that are at or below the rates in the other democracies. We support "common sense" gun control measures such as expanding background checks and banning so-called "assault weapons." At the same time, however, we believe that common sense dictates that in order to reduce gun violence in the USA to levels comparable to other civilized nations, we must overturn the Supreme Court's rogue 2008 Heller decision and adopt stringent gun control laws comparable to the laws in other high income democratic countries, including complete bans on civilian ownership of handguns and all automatic and semi-automatic long guns.
