Ready to meet our 10th Champion of the Classroom presented by TaxSlayer? Meet Mr. Williams, the K-5 computer literacy teacher at McBean Elementary School in Richmond County School System! He noted, he always enjoys seeing students really understand a concept. “I have found my niche with STEM and computer literacy. Students enjoy coming to my class to learn coding and it helps me stay motivated daily. When they ask to use the robots or other technology and are actively engaged, I feel like I have done my job.” He plans to use his $500 to buy updated STEM equipment for the classroom so the students can use the robotics in pairs and as teams! 🍎 (fb)

Introducing another recipient of our 2025 Champions of the Classroom grant presented by TaxSlayer! Mrs. Westbrook teaches 8th grade ELA at Columbia Middle School within the Columbia County School District-Evans, Georgia! 🍎 She has been teaching for 10 years and credits her inspiration for teaching to a mission trip to Russia the summer before 11th grade where she taught vacation bible school at a camp for orphaned children. “I realized then that teaching was my calling!” “My favorite part of being a teacher is seeing the light in a student’s eyes when they grasp a new concept; made all the sweeter by the relationships I get to build with them,” she said.
