Eli's Garden of Healing

Our goal is to provide green space and programming to help people heal after violent events. Our mission is to bring healing and violence prevention to our community. Our vision is to create a garden of healing for victims and survivors of any kind of violence. The garden is being dedicated to the memory of Elijah Gomez, a 15-year old African-American Hamden High football student, who was murdered by three men while walking home from school on the Farmington Canal Trail, a popular recreation trail in Connecticut. The garden will be used as a place of nature-centric healing and calm for anyone in the community who seeks it. It will also be used as a platform to produce, host, and support a range of violence prevention, intervention, and healing programming for the greater Hamden area.
