At 10:04 AM yesterday, Kent Fire and Ambulance, alongside mutual aid departments, responded to a reported structure fire at 65 Kenmont Rd, where two unoccupied cabins were fully engulfed in flames and spreading to a third near other structures creating a significant threat of further spreading. Additional hazards included numerous propane tanks. High winds made firefighting efforts extremely difficult. Additional mutual aid was called in to help contain and knock down the fire. One firefighter was transported to the hospital by Kent Ambulance and released this afternoon, another sought ER evaluation after the fire and was released.
