@uaw.union Community Action Program's legislative agenda includes ending Pennsylvania's death penalty. H.B. 888 (Diamond) Abolishing the Death Penalty. This legislation reflects a commitment to the sanctity of human life and the pursuit of a justice system rooted in fairness, accountability, and compassion. As legislators, we must uphold the principle that all human life has inherent value and dignity, regardless of the circumstances. Abolishing the death penalty aligns with pro-life values by affirming that the state should not take life as punishment, even in response to the gravest of crimes. Every life is sacred, and the role of government should not be to decide who lives and who dies, but to protect and promote life wherever possible. The death penalty is not only inconsistent with the sanctity of life, but it also fails to meet the practical and moral standards of justice and equality.
