City of Refuge Athens is a 501c3 nonprofit ministry that works to combat food insecurity and serve those who are so often overlooked in our community. Our purpose is to serve families, children, and individuals in the Athens area who are living in crisis. We do this by: 1. Helping to mitigate food insecurity by providing groceries and supplies to families in need; 2. Providing food, uniforms, and supplies to partner schools; and 3. Offering a After School Tutoring and Mentor Program to Clarke County elementary students. Through our service, we strive to show people in crisis that they are valued, loved, and have resources for transformational change.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION SCHEDULE Keith Carver Award City of Refuge Athens was awarded the 2024 Keith Carver Award by the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia for always going the extra mile when it comes to battling food insecurity and loving on members of the community. City of Refuge Athens was founded in October 2018 by Geoff and Connie Rushing Geoff Rushing is a retired pastor from Grace Fellowship Church. He and his wife Connie have big hearts for service and a deep love and compassion for people in need.
