Washington Basset Rescue

Washington Basset Rescue (WABR) is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming Basset Hounds and Beagles. Founded in 1988 by Pat Benstine, the organization aims to keep these breed dogs out of shelters by placing them in suitable forever homes.

Mission

The mission of WABR is to assist in the placement of unwanted, abandoned, or abused Basset Hounds and Beagles into loving homes, working closely with the public, animal shelters, veterinarians, and other rescue groups. The organization relies on a network of foster homes to care for the dogs until permanent placements are found.
