Please see below the letter from the Board of Directors of Operation Comfort in regard to the closing of Operation Comfort. As the Executive Director, I was informed of the difficult decision made to close this organization. I can assure you that all efforts were made to keep this wonderful organization open. Our founder is aware of the closing and although saddened like the rest of us, she supports the decision. In our best efforts to ensure OC participants have continued access and support to activities, woodworking, hockey, and cycling will continue under local nonprofit organizations. The woodworking program will continue under Intrepid Care who has multiple classes established and master wood workers. The hockey program will continue under the Dallas Stars sled team, where our team has already traveled and attended multiple events with. The cycling program will continue under the nonprofits Build a Bike and Adaptive Adventures. Team America will continue to ride under these nonprofits. To all our sponsors, donors, and community leaders your support over the years has provided so much for the disabled veteran community, thank you. As Operation Comfort continue the close out process, everything is legally advised and in accordance with Texas State laws and Texas nonprofit policies. Please direct all questions or concerns to the Board of Directors. To my fellow Veterans, as a 23-year retired combat Veteran, I want to thank you for being a part of the Operation Comfort family and also thank you for your continued support and understanding. This is not easy; For those who have continued to volunteer and have reached out to assist in any way possible, I can't thank you enough. To Jorge, James, and Virginia, you are forever family.
