Availforce

Availforce is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that helps nonprofits implement the Salesforce platform for better fundraising and financial management, community engagement, volunteer management, and program management.Salesforce.org provides the Salesforce platform free of cost to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) certification, along with helpful tools for nonprofits to set up and configure the platform on their own. But because many nonprofits lack sufficient resources and time to invest in the initial planning phase, things often fall through the cracks or are overlooked, prompting these nonprofits to abandon a promising solution.Availforce alleviates these pain points with its programs and activities. Activities include the following:* Creating customized technology plans for nonprofits* Mentoring individuals interested in becoming Salesforce Administrators, by connecting them to existing resources and hosting weekly meetings and training groups* Providing guidance for a client organization's on-site administrator's Salesforce training* Assisting with other technological projects as neededThe founding board members and other volunteers are the backbone and workforce for the Availforce organization. Members and volunteers meet with potential clients either in person in the Raleigh-Durham area or using video conferencing and screen sharing, to chart a plan of action to accomplish the goals set forth by the organization.Availforce also offers guidance and tips to help nonprofit leaders consider options or pitfalls they may have not otherwise recognized. Timelines for projects vary depending on need.Currently Availforce is providing services on a voluntary donation basis and selecting clients that are within the scope and capabilities of its current resources. Future plans to charge fees on a per-project basis have been discussed, but they will not be executed until the organization has finished its current projects and determines that its model is fully functional and sustainable.
