Breaking Ground HDFC
Our monthly #BG35 series continues as we celebrate 35 years of building and restoring lives in 2025. This month’s highlight is La Central, a major 100% affordable development in the South Bronx that is transforming long-vacant land into over 1,000 units of housing. Breaking Ground’s 161-unit supportive residence was the first building to be completed in 2019, with the second phase completed by our partners at Hudson Companies in 2022, and the final phase that broke ground earlier this year and will deliver two more buildings plus shared open space along the center of the project.
