Home - Central Florida Area Health Education Center Serving the Central Florida Community since 1991 Welcome The Central Florida AHECs mission is to enhance access to quality health care particularly primary and preventive care by improving the supply and distribution of health care professionals through communityacademic educational partnerships. CFAHEC is part of the Nova Southeastern University Program which began in 1991 and covers a nineteencounty area in the central and southern part of Florida. Community activities are carried out by two local AHEC Centers Central Florida AHEC in Apopka serving Orange Seminole Osceola Lake Sumter Brevard Highlands Hardee and Polk counties and Everglades AHEC in West Palm Beach which serves Broward Collier Glades Hendry Indian River Lee Martin Okeechobee Palm Beach and St. Lucie counties.
