Open-Door Playhouse - the PODCAST Our goal is to introduce emerging and unknown playwrights with an opportunity to have their works, p Small theaters all over the country were shuttered in 2020 due to COVID-19, leaving playwrights, actors and directors with nowhere to produce live theater productions. I, Bernadette Armstrong, came up with the idea of Open-Door Playhouse (ODP), a 501c3 nonprofit organization, a podcast that supports new and emerging writers by producing plays in the style of the live Radio Plays popular in the 1940s & 50s. Since September 2020 ODP has produced over 144 plays written by playwrights all over the country and beyond. All plays are produced in Los Angeles. The most important aspect of ODP is that from the beginning I was determined to pay all talent, and staff that worked on our productions. We paid talent during the pandemic and the recent strikes. It is now time for us to go Live on Stage.
