San Angelo Family Network San Angelo Family Network Based on data from the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services over 200 children in San Angelo and surrounding areas are growing up without either biological parent. While there are licensed foster parents in the area about 100 children are in a DFPS kinship placement. It is estimated that 1500 Concho Valley children are living with relatives without DFPS involvement. Kinship families which consist of grandparents other relatives and family friends are stepping up ensuring children have a safe and nurturing home.
