Wounded Heroes of America
We're here to make sure Iraq and Afghanistan veterans know they aren't alone and they aren't forgotten. We rely on community support to fulfill our mission! Wounded Heroes of America is a 501 C 3 non profit helping our Post 9/11 combat wounded veterans. Wounded Heroes of America's ("WHOA") mission is to recognize and support our combat wounded Veterans from Operation Iraqi Freedom ("OIF") and Operation Enduring Freedom ("OEF"). We began in 2001 supporting families broken after the World Trade Center tragedy. The consequent series of events encouraged us to continue our social work; and in 2004 we started helping combat wounded veterans. Since then, WHOA supports wounded veterans and their families in moving forward to their new lives as civilians providing monthly financial aid, Fellowship support, and a network of holistic assistance.

CBS NEWS FEATURE We have recently been recognized on CBS News in a segment called Veterans Voices EDUCATING OUR COMMUNITIES PostTraumatic Stress PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injuries TBI are havoc on the lives of our heroes. Community advocacy helps raise awareness.
