Public Vision League
Delayed access to vision care has serious impacts on eye patients ‼️ Performing essential daily functions like working, driving, or learning in school is hard or impossible without clear vision. #HealthyVisionMonth California must take action to increase access to care by: ➡️ Raising Medi-Cal rates for eye exams ➡️ Expanding optometrists scope of practice.

⚠️ 9 out of 10 optometrists say patients can't find a Medi-Cal provider near them ⚠️ The current reimbursement rate only covers 25% of the cost of an eye exam, forcing optometrists to drop the program. Optometrists want to serve patients on #Medi-Cal, but won’t be able to keep their doors open at the current rate. #CALeg: Raising Medi-Cal rates NOW for eye exams would allow optometrists to treat more Medi-Cal patients.
