On May 5—National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit Relatives—we filled Cincinnati with red dresses. We honored our stolen sisters. We made visible what this country refuses to see. But someone tore them all down. They threw them in the bushes. They stuffed them in the trash. They tried to silence our grief, our resilience, our ceremony. This is not just vandalism. This is a mirror. This is how America treats Native Relitives. 1 in 3 Native women will experience rape or attempted rape. 4 out of 5 face violence in their lifetime. And when we go missing, the system does not look for us. So we look for each other. We remember. We resist. We put the dresses back up, and our allies are keeping watch.
