Harvester Arts and the National Association of Independent Artists are teaming up to bring NAIA’s An Intro to Art Festivals and an Art Show Crash Course to Wichita, Kansas. An Intro to Art Festivals This class is for artists who have wondered what it takes to exhibit and sell their work at a juried art festival like the Plaza Art Fair or Autumn & Art. The class will give you an idea of what it takes to get started and the costs involved. It will also provide you with online resources to help you make your decision. An Intro to Art Festivals is April 30th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Harvester Arts, 120 E. 1st St. N in Wichita, Kansas. This is a free class, and no registration is needed. Art Show Crash Course The Art Show Crash Course was created to help new art festival artists be more successful. Art festivals can be a great source of income for artists, but it often takes a few years to get there, and many new artists leave before they get there. The Art Show Crash Course is designed to teach new artists many things that might otherwise take years to learn and to help make festivals profitable in less time. The Art Show Crash Course is May 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Harvester Arts 120 E. 1st St. N in Wichita, Kansas. The cost is $50 per person and includes course materials and lunch. The class size is limited; please register early at naiaartists.org/ictascc. The deadline for registration is May 13th. Cort Anderson, NAIA Chairperson, will be the instructor for both classes. He brings not only his 15+ years of art festival experience but also that of many other veteran artists as well. We would like to officially welcome Cort Anderson into his role of Chair of the Board here at NAIA (https://www.naiaartists.org/about-us) Cort has been very active in some of our top projects since joining the board 5 years ago, including managing the Emerging Artist workshops and Zoom meetings, and the Artist Happy Hour Zooms for the past few winters, while also being quite active behind the scenes in a lot of our other organizational iniatives. He is a strong organizer, with good ideas, and we look forward to his leadership in our projects as we advocate for exhibiting artists, and promote the success of art shows as an industry. (fb)
