Heart Surgeries in Uganda I Paty's Project I Home Healing One Heart at a Time in honor of Wavamuno Patrick. 8000 16000 children are born with heart defects each year in Uganda Less than 50 open heart surgeries are performed in country Hope in Every Heartbeat It is estimated that 800016000 children are born with Congenital Heart Defects in Uganda each year more than 2000 of those requiring urgent surgical intervention. Due to a lack of medical resources in the country many children are diagnosed late and deemed inoperable. Parents many living on less than 1 a day are told to seek surgery outside the country.
