Heat of the Kitchen
Cooking, eating, and serving together with our youth at Ida B. Wells High School since 2009. Heat of the Kitchen re-engages and mentors transitional-aged youth through the communal acts of cooking, eating, and serving together. Our vision is to nurture youth throughout San Francisco into confident, caring professionals by providing positive, real work experiences in our kitchens and gardens.

Heat of the Kitchen We use all of our senses when we cook together and the accomplishments go in deep it is a catalyst for connection appreciation motivation and forward planning. That is why we work with students at Ida B. Wells High School in the way that we do. Our two teachers bring the best of our industrys kitchens and dining rooms into our classroom to help our youth graduate ready for life after high school.
