Protect Your Family - Stop 3009 Vulcan Quarry

Vulcan plans to set up a 1500-acre open-pit rock quarry in Comal County between Bulverde and New Braunfels. Fight to protect your family and our Hill Country! Nonprofit organization established in Comal County, Texas to preserve and protect the land, water, air, wildlife, and quality of life in the Texas Hill Country from the aggressive and insufficiently regulated expansion of the aggregate industry. To educate the public about the dangers of pollutants caused by open pit quarry mining in Texas and to keep open pit mining from destroying the local communities where they operate. Our mission is to protect the air water and land in residential areas for the use of its people for this generation and generations to come.

From our friends at TRAM Texas: THANK YOU to the folks who helped spread the word and submitted comments on SB 1757 over the weekend. UPDATE: The bill was not heard as scheduled yesterday. For reasons unclear, there was a sign posted on the hearing room door that "The House Committee on Environmental Regulation will not be considering SB 1757 today." Rumor is that the bill will be heard in the same committee on Thursday, but there isn't any posted agenda for that yet. If it is posted, there should be another link to submit electronic comments, and we may circulate another Action Alert then.
