As you get ready to spend time outside this holiday weekend, keep in mind that ticks are out and moving around! Michigan has a few different types of ticks, and all of them can transmit different diseases. However, blacklegged ticks (also called deer ticks) are the ones that spread Lyme disease, which has been on the rise in the last five years. To find out more about ticks, how to stay safe, and what to look out for, check out this article from Michigan's Department of Health and Human Services: https://www.michigan.gov/mdhhs/inside-mdhhs/newsroom/2025/05/21/tick-season-2025?utm_campaign=dhhs+tick+prevention&utm_medium=mkt+email&utm_source=govdelivery (fb)

Due to inclement weather, our Magoon Creek workbee will be cancelled today, May 21st. At this time, we have no plans to reschedule it. In the meantime, think about how green everything will be 24 hours after this rain! (fb)
