OUR AORN CHAPTER WAS FOUNDED BY A GROUP OF REGISTERED NURSES OVER 50 YEARS AGO ON JUNE 13, 1958, WITH A GOAL OF PROMOTING PERIOPERATIVE NURSING PRACTICE THROUGH VOLUNTEER COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS AND TO PROVIDE PARTIAL FUNDING FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION ENDEAVORS, AND TO PROVIDE NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS AT THE LOCAL LEVEL TO NURSING STUDENTS INTERESTED IN PURSING A CAREER IN PERIOPERATIVE NURSING OR TO ADVANCE THEIR NURSING DEGREE. THE ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS REMAIN THE SAME AT THIS TIME.
