Sankofa Veterinary Project Planting a seed for future generations Supporting mentorship and Diversity Equity and Inclusion within the field of Veterinary Medicine Sankofa Veterinary Project is a nonprofit that launched in Spring 2022 with the goal of exposing BIPOC Black Indigenous People of Color students to the veterinary field. We match high school students with veterinary clinics and research facilities to provide internships and mentoring. Our mission is that by supporting these BIPOC students through the Sankofa Veterinary Project it will ultimately decrease those students barriers with applying to veterinary school. We hope that this support will allow the students the types of experiences that will enhance their desire to pursuit and the preparation needed to apply to veterinary school.
