New Ground Inc.
New Ground is a unique agency committed to educating and empowering families and veterans who are caught in the vicious cycle of homelessness. Breaking the Cycle of Homelessness since 1991 for Long Island families and Veterans. We maintain that the key to breaking the cycle of homelessness is not only to provide short-term assistance to homeless families and Veterans, but also to work at eliminating its root causes so these individuals can become, and remain, self-supporting. We identify, and then respond to, those at risk with programs that provide educational, technical, and emotional support. This empowers our families and Veterans, enabling them to function independently. Working in collaboration with the public and private sector, NEW GROUND works with existing agencies to better respond to the growing needs and challenges of Long Island’s homeless population.

Home - New Ground BIG ANNOUNCEMENT. New Ground has been named as Bank of Americas 2023 Neighborhood Builders Awardee. Through this multiyear grant funding and extensive leadership training will be provided to New Grounds staff and programs and services addressing homelessness and workforce equity will be expanded. Huge thanks to Cardinal Mercier Assembly #705 4th Degree Knights of Columbus for hosting a Night at the Races fundraiser this past June in support of New Ground’s Veterans Programs. Yesterday, our Director of Development & Events, Diane Serenita, was honored to accept a $3,000 check, as a result from this amazing night. We are deeply grateful to our friends at the Knights of Columbus for their generosity and contribution to breaking the cycle of homelessness for Veterans and their families.
