Help Us Save 148 Edgewood Avenue! Built in 1926 by the Georgia Railway and Power Company, 148 Edgewood Avenue has played a key role in downtown Atlanta’s history. Now, Georgia State University is proposing its demolition to create a greenspace, despite its vital connection to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Landmark District. This district is of national importance, representing the achievements of African American leaders and institutions. Demolishing 148 Edgewood would severely impact the historical integrity of the area. But there’s still time for us to make our voices heard! Join us at the “College Town Downtown” transformation public hearing on May 28th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Centennial Hall, Room 120.
