💔 At ROOTS, we are mourning the loss of a former guest who left a lasting impact on our community. Their intelligence, creativity, and sense of humor touched many, and their passing is deeply felt by those who knew them. Sadly, their death is part of a much larger and heartbreaking reality. ➡️ Young people experiencing homelessness are 10 times more likely to die early compared to their housed peers. ➡️ Many of these deaths are caused by preventable issues such as untreated illness, mental health challenges, exposure to violence, and substance dependence.
