NEXT WEEK ⚡ Join us Thursday, May 29 at 7:30pm for a conversation with visuals with artist collectives Alluvium & M.I.R.A.G.E. 𝑹𝒆𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒆 is a conversation with visuals presented by exhibiting artist collective Alluvium and M.I.R.A.G.E., a concurrent project with overlapping members. Using recent works in video, sound, and installation from both projects, the artists will explore the theoretical potential of the interstitial. Free and open to the public. Presented in conjunction with the exhibition 𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒔, on view through June 29. 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 Alluvium (@alluviumspirals) is a collaboration between Nika Kaiser (@nikarebekah) and Nathan Stickel. Through video projection, field recordings, and sound—both composed and improvised—they create immersive installations that respond to site-specific details and the fluctuating conditions of the natural world. The geologic phenomenon of alluvium occurs when loose clay, silt, sand, or gravel is temporarily deposited by water. Their collaborative works reflect this process—an accumulation of tenuous, shifting environmental conditions held in a temporal repository. M.I.R.A.G.E. is a collaborative project between Nika Kaiser and Max Telos. Longtime friends and creative partners, Kaiser and Telos have been thinking, reading, and working together for years. As M.I.R.A.G.E., they create video and sound works through explorative and experimental techniques. Based in the Southwestern U.S., their practice engages questions of animal-human relations, infrastructure, and space. (fb)
