22 years ago today, a group of dedicated Trail users came together to form the Town Lake Trail Foundation. Since then—and through a few name changes 😉—we’ve worked every day to carry forward the vision first set in motion by the 1971 Town Lake Beautification Committee. Young leaders, thriving landscapes — this is what progress looks like. 💪🌳 This past semester, TTC partnered with six EcoRise AYCEC students to explore the importance of a healthy shoreline. From planting trees and a rain garden to identifying flora, fauna, and wildlife during our BioBlitz — these young leaders are helping shape a greener future. The Austin Youth Climate Equity Council (AYCEC) empowers high school students to lead local climate action and support of climate equity and sustainability through civic engagement. (fb)
