HOUSTON SWING DANCE SOCIETY
Join us EVERY SUNDAY in Houston! The Houston Swing Dance Society mission is to introduce people of all ages, colors, races, cultures, genders and orientations to the joy of the music and social dances of the swing era and to create a “living tradition” in our diverse communities in support of the resurgence of the Lindy Hop, the great African American social dance that emerged from Harlem ballrooms in the late 1920’s. HSDS’s mission also includes introducing and educating people to dances like the Charleston, the Shim Sham, the Big Apple and couple dances like Blues, Balboa, Collegiate shag and and others. HSDS continues to develop a diverse and vibrant local Lindy Hop and swing dance community to includes communities of color, younger dancers and dancers of limited means with quality programming and affordable pricing.

The month of June starts tomorrow and, as a reminder, we won’t be having our regular Sunday dances this month as we get our new space, @evertonhallhtx, ready for our grand opening. If you’re looking for something to do on the weekend while you’re not dancing, we still have plenty of room for volunteers to help us with our floor installation.
