Home The Trust is a volunteer nonprofit organization whose mission is the protection of areas of ecological importance such as marshes woodlands and seashores the promotion of public interest in conservation and smart development and the preservation of properties of unique historic interest or unusual beauty. In the late 1960s a group of Cohasset residents banded together to save Bassing Beach from imminent development. Their fundraising efforts combined with a donation of some of the land enabled this special place to be permanently protected for conservation and public recreation. The Cohasset Conservation Trust grew from this initiative.
