Creating new bridges for U.S.-Japan collaboration 🇺🇸🤝🇯🇵 Earlier this month, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Northern California (JCCNC) and Vice Chairman Kazunori Kato hosted a special delegation visit with Consuls Naoki And and Satoru Kobayashi of the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco (CGJSF) to explore Sacramento’s thriving biotech and agri-food sectors. The purpose of the visit was to provide the Consulate and participating Japanese companies with valuable insight into Sacramento’s rapidly growing biotechnology and agri-food sectors, while also offering opportunities to build connections with key players driving innovation in the region. The delegation included representatives from 12 companies supporting the Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Northern California (JCCNC) such as Mitsui, Kikkoman Foods, Inc., Kagome Co., Ltd., Salad Cosmo, Sakata Seed America, Inc., Norinchukin Bank and more. Together, we visited facilities related to biotechnology and agri-food development in the Greater Sacramento area. Our stops included UC Davis and Aggie Square in Davis City, as well as Bayer LifeHub in City of Woodland Special thanks to Secretary Karen Ross for helping us welcome the group. It was an incredible visit! (fb)

#HotTopic out of the 2025 SelectUSA Investment Summit: Is tariff uncertainty causing global investors to hesitate on U.S. projects? GSEC President & CEO Barry Broome shared his two cents on the matter: “California is a big international market. So about 40% of our business activity comes from international markets. 60% are domestic. This year, we’re down about 26% over last year. I think any time you see uncertainty, people put the brakes on complicated projects.” More about how tariffs are impacting U.S. investment decisions: (fb)
