#ourode2you 🎶 501(c)(3) nonprofit led by hs students that facilitate all kinds of art & music 4 the elderly 🎨 complimentary experience Our Ode To You (OOTY) is a teen led organization that focuses on getting memory care residents back into their creative hobbies. We’ve hosted over 100 sessions featuring teen volunteers, all at no cost to memory care facilities. We start with 30 minutes of painting on canvases with a teen performer (singing, dancing, comedy, etc) in the background. we then transition into the engaging part, which is letting the elderly folk collaborate with the teen volunteers. They play instruments, sing, along or even just have heartfelt conversations. It provides as a nourishing experience for both parties. Retirement homes, specifically, memory care facilities have a little to no entertainment, so OOTY changes that for them.
