THE HHV-6 FOUNDATION IS A NON-PROFIT ENTITY FOUNDED TO ENCOURAGE SCIENTIFIC EXCHANGE BETWEEN SCIENTISTS AND TO PROVIDE PILOT GRANTS FOR PROMISING SCIENTIFIC AND CLINICAL RESEARCH THE FIRST PRIORITY OF THE FOUNDATION IS TO PROVIDE INFORMATION AND REAGENTS TO INVESTIGATORS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN STUDYING HHV-6 WE MAINTAIN A REPOSITORY OF REAGENTS INCLU DING MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES, COSMIDS, HYBRIDOMAS, CELL LINES AND VIRAL LYSATES THAT ARE DONATED BY INVESTIGATORS AROUND THE WORLD

12th International Conference on HHV6 7 Announced The 12th International Conference on HHV6 7 will convene in Japan at the Himeji Culture and Convention Center in March 2025. Coinfection of HHV6A and EBV results in a 6. 7 fold increased risk of developing multiple sclerosis The increased risk occurred only in adults who were infected with EBV after their teenage years and had elevated EBNA1 antibodies. Metformin reduces HHV6A replication in T cells by activating AMPK Conversely HHV6A infection increases viral replication by inhibiting AMPK and enhancing mTOR signaling and glycolysis.
