The facility opened in July 2001 as a jointly owned and governed community to address the mutual need for care among aging members of these congregations.

The organization is governed through a two-tier structure consisting of members of the corporation and a board of directors. The members represent the founding religious institutes, each designating a delegate for corporate matters. The board includes these delegates along with other elected individuals, overseeing various aspects of the organization through committees like Executive, Mission and Governance, Finance, Buildings and Grounds, Quality Assurance, and Mission Advancement/Community Outreach.
