Wall of Honor Inc.

The core mission of the Wall of Honor is to ensure that the contributions and sacrifices of veterans and first responders are never forgotten. The organization achieves this by maintaining over 130 digital displays across North Dakota, featuring individuals with ties to the state. These ties include being born in, living in, or having served in North Dakota.

The displays are located in various venues such as restaurants, schools, airports, and veteran service organizations, providing a public platform for recognition. Each honoree is featured with a photo and service details, creating a personal tribute to their service.

In addition to the digital displays, the organization offers canvas prints of honoree slides and participates in tabling events to further its mission.

Eligibility and Participation

Eligibility to be honored extends to veterans, active military personnel, military reserve, national guard members, and first responders, both living and deceased, with connections to North Dakota. There is an encouraged donation for submissions, but it is not required.

Origin

The Wall of Honor's genesis stems from a Vietnam veteran's experience upon returning home, where he faced disrespect and a lack of appreciation. This experience motivated him to create a platform for honoring those who serve, ensuring they receive the respect and recognition they deserve.

Impact

In just a few years, the Wall of Honor has honored over 2,500 individuals and expanded its reach across North Dakota. The organization is driven by a volunteer staff, including its Executive Director, Tammy Ibach, who are dedicated to spreading patriotism and gratitude for those who serve.

Governance

The organization is led by a volunteer-based Board of Directors, consisting of North Dakotans who believe in the mission. Many board members are veterans, active military personnel, or first responders themselves.

Financial and Operational Details

It encourages community involvement by allowing businesses and individuals to sponsor displays in their local communities.
