The Spirit of Wenatchees Miss Veedol The replica Miss Veedol celebrates the worlds first nonstop flight across the Pacific Ocean a stunning but largelyforgotten historic event. Built by volunteer Wenatchee EAA members and aviation enthusiasts between 1996 and 2003 the redorange plane is a replica of the Bellanca CH400 Special Model J that Clyde Pangborn and Hugh Herndon Jr. flew from Misawa Japan to Wenatchee Washington in 1931. Each year Spirit of Wenatchee volunteers fly the plane for special events around the region and to air shows throughout the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada.
