Earlier this month, Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton traveled to the Holy Land to visit with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land and Bishop Dr. Sani Abraham. She was joined by others from the ELCA, and partners from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada including National Bishop Susan Johnson. During their visit, the delegation met with ELCJHL pastors and ministry directors, local heads of churches, and interfaith and ecumenical partners. The group also visited Lutheran schools and Augusta Victoria Hospital. Bishop Johnson and Bishop Eaton joined Bishop Azar for a webinar about the current experiences of Palestinians, including Palestinian Christians, and reflections from the two visiting bishops about what they witnessed during their trip. They also joined the Arabic-speaking congregation in Jerusalem for Palm Sunday worship on the Mount of Olives.
