Stray Cat Film Center - Kansas City's Indie Movie Theater Your Custom Text Here BRINGING THE WEIRD WILD WORLD OF CINEMA TO KANSAS CITY SINCE 2018. This Week Kansas Citys NonProfit Movie Theater Stray Cat Film Center is a nonprofit microcinema in Kansas Citys Crossroads neighborhood. Our 50seat theater screens a wide variety of films from French dramas to horror to socially conscious movies. Curated by a team of volunteer programmers we offer a space for films that challenge and entertain.

Tonight, May 30th, at 7:00pm, we hope you’ll join us for the TransInternational Shorts Block, a curated-by-us block on trans short films. Featuring five films by seven total directors, this shorts program brings together filmmakers separated by time, space, and nationality, but untied in a common focus on transness and the trans body. Featuring films that are over 30 years old, to films that are still on the festival circuit, we are excited to bring each of these shorts to Kansas City for this special screening.
