Lighthouse Christian Ministries was originally founded as Bay Area Christian Services (BACS) in December 1997 by Bayview residents Chuck Gussler and Karl Newmann, pastor of Bayshore Friends Church. The initial establishment included a resale shop intended to generate revenue for various community services, such as financial assistance for utilities and gasoline, food distribution, clothing allowances, job interview guidance, and local job information. Over time, the organization evolved into Lighthouse Christian Ministries.

Activities and Programs

The ministry operates a resale shop and focuses on five core areas:

• Short-term Assistance: Offers immediate help with basic necessities.
• Educational Programs: Offers educational support to enhance self-sufficiency.
