DeSales Heritage Foundation
The mission of DeSales Heritage Foundation, a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization, is to promote and support the restoration, preservation and improvement of the church building of St. Francis de Sales Oratory, an historically and architecturally significant structure listed on the National Register of Historic Places. St. Francis de Sales is located at 2653 Ohio Avenue, St. Louis, MO, 63118. Founded in 1908, the church building is of neo-gothic style, and boasts of the tallest steeple in the St. Louis area, in addition to numerous exquisite stained glass. It was known as the "Cathedral of South St. Louis" in the 20th Century. Age and exposure to the elements have made exterior tuckpointing and stained-glass window repair top priority restoration issues that require funding.
