SPARK | School Park Program

SPARK helps public schools develop their playgrounds into community parks. SPARK helps public schools transform their playgrounds into community parks. SPARK helps schools in predominately low-income neighborhoods in Harris County develop their playgrounds into community parks. SPARK Parks may include playground equipment, jogging trails, outdoor classroom area, landscaping, and public art. Pedestrian access to the park after school hours, on the weekends and holidays is required. SPARK is working with others in the City of Houston towards the goal of every resident having access to a quality park within one-half mile or a ten-minute walk of home.
