Join our community and become part of our Sicilian family! We have been celebrating our heritage in Independence for over 50 years with a festival, and 2026 marks the 18th Independence Sicilian Heritage Festival. Help make this year epic by joining our board! Our meeting is Thursday June 5th at 6:30 at the old City Hall next to First Guaranty Bank. Attendance at the June or July meeting is required to sign up. (fb)

Railroad Ave. Independence 70443 Welcome to the Independence SicilianHeritage Festival About Our Festival The Independence Sicilian Heritage Festival has a long tradition of celebrating the culture accomplishments music and food of our Sicilian Families who settled in Independence and Tangipahoa Parish. The Festival is always held the second weekend in March and we have a standing invitation for everyone to come and enjoy three days of great food music and family fun.
