Pronounced /k’lah/, like the tiger in the Khmer language, the Cambodian American Literary Arts Association (CALAA) empowers voices in the Cambodian diaspora. It is a resource in the preservation and enrichment of historical, social, spiritual, and cultural values for Cambodian communities around the world. We are dedicated to the growth, visibility, and creative freedom of emerging and established writers in the Cambodian diaspora. Alongside this goal, CALAA aims to cultivate a network of multicultural communities through programs that encourage literary development, storytelling, and intercultural, intergenerational communication.
