Samaritan Kitchen of Wilkes Samaritan Kitchen of Wilkes Donate Now What We Do Project Backpack Hungry children get free lunches on school days but what about the weekend. Caring teachers and school counselors identify children who are food insecure and volunteers pack 7 meals into bags that go in each childs backpack each weekend. Food Pantry There are 10000 people in Wilkes County North Carolina that are food insecure. We collect donated food from local grocers restaurants and gardeners Monday through Saturday and give people in need 60 pounds of groceries each month.
