Seventy-six students and 10 faculty members from Girard College traveled to Harrisburg yesterday to participate in CeaseFirePA’s annual End Gun Violence Advocacy Day. The students met with legislators and advocated for increasing safety measures, such as treating ghost guns as real guns (House Bill 777) and universal background checks (House Bill 714). While gun homicides have decreased 38% since 2022 across Pennsylvania, and shootings are down 50% in Philadelphia compared to two years ago, much more work needs to be done to eliminate gun violence. #GirardCollege #EndGunViolence #CeaseFirePA #AdvocacyDay #LegislativeAction #GunControl (fb)

Girard College Inspiring Future Leaders Girard College is a 5day boarding school for academically capable students grades 1 through 12 from families headed by a single parent or guardian. We provide full scholarships to all of our students. At Girard I have been able to truly benefit from the smaller class sizes. I have meaningful opportunities to engage with my teachers to ask questions and to ensure I understand the material being taught.
