Home - New York Committee Our Mission The New York Committee of the Garden Club of America brings together members of clubs in Zones II III and IV to work on neglected urban landscapes in New York City. The goal is to inspire promote and assist with appropriate civic plantings and advise in the planning of new green areas. History of NY Committee 1977 marked the year of the first meeting of the New York Committee. The initial mission was to inspire promote and assist with appropriate civic plantings and advise in the planning of green areas in New York City with its first project being Central Parks Conservancy Garden.
