Forgotten Animals is effectively preventing and stopping animals suffering in Ukraine and Russia. Neglecting and abusing dogs, cats and wild animals, and treating them as commodities, is still a widely common cultural norm in former Soviet countries. From day 1 of the war our focus has been redirected to alleviating suffering in war torn Ukraine through neutering, rescue and emergency shelter support. Before that we worked in mostly Russia. There are hundreds of travelling dolphinaria, animal circuses, and no wildlife sanctuary to rescue those animals to. When you find animals in need, there is usually nowhere to take them like there is in the western countries. There is no supporting infrastructure in most places.
