Last night, our Swiftwater Rescue Team was sent to Jordan to assist evacuating occupants trapped in a flash flood. Our team of 6 properly equipped and trained Rescuers checked many residences for occupants, locating 1 residence with 6 occupants in immediate danger. Equipped with life jackets and helmets for the trapped civilians, 1 team deployed in our rescue craft and made 2 trips to safely evacuate the victims. Northwest Fire assisted us on shore and checking houses. These incidents are highly hazardous to civilians and our responders, proper training and equipment reduces the risks.
