Butte County Sheriff's Search & Rescue (BCSAR) is an all-volunteer, non-profit, non-tax-supported, unit of the Butte County Sheriff's Office. Butte County Sheriff's Search & Rescue (BCSAR) is an all-volunteer, non-profit, non-tax-supported Butte County Search and Rescue was established in 1961, and since that time the organization has grown to provide services to the county in many specialized areas of search and rescue. BCSAR responds to over 100 emergency calls per year, which include the search for a lost individual, rescue of an injured person and response to disasters such as floods or wildfires. Our mission is to ensure that any lost or endangered individual can be quickly returned to safety and their family. BCSAR goes anywhere, anytime, for anyone, at no charge. Our organization is 100% volunteer, and we are funded solely on donations from the public.
